lineTEC ProFlex S UV – The house connection liner for UV-LED curing
On 01.10.2021, lineTEC will launch the first liner specially developed for light curing. Compared to liners made of standard polyester fibres, this liner has up to 10 times higher light transmission. This enables a much faster and, above all, safer curing of light-reactive resins with tensile speeds > 1 m/min.
Light curing is becoming increasingly popular in the field of domestic sewer rehabilitation. While translucent glass liners are used for large nominal diameters, these can only be used to a very limited extent in small nominal diameters due to bends and dimensional changes. Flexible liners made of polymer fibres (e.g. polyester), such as the proven linTEC ProFlex, are used here.
To counter this problem, we had to develop a light-transmissive fibre that corresponds to a standard polyester fibre in terms of processing properties and elongation behaviour.
After two years of development, we are pleased to present ProFlex S UV, a felt liner made of the new PES UVx10 fibre. Compared to standard fibres, this fibre has up to 10 times the light transmission according to DIN EN 410 at wavelengths in the range of 250 nm to 600 nm. This means that light-curing resins can also cure much faster in the house connection and the risk of poor curing on the pipe wall due to self-shadowing fibres is significantly reduced.
